The enlarged Cotter Dam project in the ACT involved constructing a new 80-metre high roller compacted concrete dam 100m downstream of the 1912 original, increasing water storage capacity from 4 to 78 gigalitres to serve Canberra through the Stromlo Water treatment plant, while pioneering the world-first use of a concrete paving machine for RCC placement.
